Trojan Track Team Delivers Strong Performances at State Level

This past weekend, Banneker High School’s Track and Field team made an impressive showing at the State Championships, with standout performances that exemplified the strength, discipline, and determination of Trojan athletes.

- Ebony Whyte led the charge with two remarkable finishes. She claimed the state title in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 12.00 seconds, and followed up with a second-place finish in the 200 meters, recording a 24.54.

- In the field events, Devon Williams showcased his talent in the triple jump, securing fourth place with a mark of 47 feet, 9.5 inches.
On the track, the boys 4x100-meter relay team, composed of Kelian Allen, Joshua Hayes, Lavaris Monroe, and Jeramiah Thomas, finished strong in seventh place, posting a time of 43.45 seconds.

- Last but certainly not least, Shalea Lastie competed in the 300-meter hurdles, earning a seventh-place finish and contributing to the team’s overall presence at the state level.
